It's all water under the bridge
Toberona River Co.Louth

As I sit down to reflect on the journey of my life, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe at how swiftly time is passing by. It seems like just yesterday I was a wide-eyed youth, full of dreams and ambitions, eager to conquer the world. As a child I spent my most precious summer days walking the water fall of Toberona river. Now, as I look back, I realize that life has been a series of ebbs and flows. We all have a collection of moments in this short life. Some joyous and some challenging, but all of which have shaped us into the person we are today. My Granny’s Wisdom; “It’s all water under the bridge is firmly etched in my mind as I nagavate the life’s challenges.

Granny’s Wisdom; It’s all water under the bridge.”

Those words echo at the back of my mind. It may seem like a simple adage, but its depth and wisdom have become more apparent with each passing year. The river is continues to flow no matter what is going on in life. The quote encapsulates the idea that no matter what trials we face or mistakes we make, life goes on. Time marches forward, washing away our troubles and sorrows, leaving behind only the lessons we’ve learned and the memories we’ve cherished.

Looking back, there have been moments of immense happiness and moments of profound sadness as everyone experiences in life. There have been times when I’ve succeeded beyond my wildest dreams and times when I’ve stumbled and fallen. But through it all, I’ve come to understand that each experience, whether good or bad, has played a crucial role in shaping my character and teaching me valuable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and compassion.

There were times when I held onto grudges, unable to let go of past hurts or grievances, my granny’s words echoing at the back of my mind. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize the futility of holding onto bitterness and resentment. Life is too short to waste on negativity. Forgiveness is not only a gift we give to others but also a gift we give to ourselves, freeing our hearts and minds from the burden of anger and resentment.

In the grand tapestry of life, every thread has its place, every experience its purpose. The setbacks and disappointments that once seemed insurmountable now appear as mere ripples in the vast ocean of time. What once caused us pain eventually fades into insignificance as we focus on the beauty and wonder that surrounds us.

So, dear readers, as you navigate the journey of life, remember the wisdom of our elders. It’s all water under the bridge. Embrace each moment with gratitude and humility. Know that every experience, whether good or bad, is a stepping stone on the path to self-discovery and fulfillment. Make the decision to let go of the past and live in the present. Be grateful and embrace the future with open arms.

With love and warmth may you find the peace of a flowing river. Granny K
